Consulting support for cannabis cultivation and manufacturing in Canada

The Cannabis Act came into force on October 17, 2018, in Canada. This legislation established the foundation for a new, tightly regulated supply chain, allowing Canadian adults to access quality-controlled cannabis.

Since then, cannabis products have been legally sold by retailers authorized by their provincial governments.

To cultivate, process, and sell cannabis, you must hold a license issued by Health Canada, and in some cases, a permit from the Canada Revenue Agency. Products containing 0.3% THC or more must also carry warning labels and be marked with a provincial excise stamp as proof of their legality.

Given the novelty of cannabis legalization, some individuals or organizations looking to enter the production or sale of cannabis and its derivatives may find it challenging to navigate the process effectively.

Personalized support in this area can therefore be especially valuable. That’s why DPS quickly conducted an in-depth review of the regulations surrounding this new supply chain, as well as the various accreditation procedures involved, in order to provide reliable, informed guidance to businesses wishing to participate in the sector.
